New equipment coming to LAMB Copy Center

Over the next month, we’ll be transitioning to several new resources in the Copy Center (at the LAMB). Our contract with Canon is ending and we are beginning a new contract with Konica/Minolta that will provide new equipment for Copy Center.

New Equipment

Multifunction Printer

  • We’ll no longer have 2 printers (one for Black and White and one for color) - only one printer. Our contract includes unlimited printing in both B&W and color without restrictions.

  • Finishing utilities you are familiar with like stapling, binder stapling (across the middle fold), basic folding, printing of all-size paper from envelopes to postcards to poster size, hole punching, and other basic finishing services are provided.

  • Fiery integration services (particularly for IMPAAACTS and direct printing via Adobe services)

  • Soft saddle stitching - particularly for Judson Press and other long-form publishing needs, this provides the ability to print soft bound, stiched books from the printer.

  • Walk-up on-demand printing - as with the current printers, you can walk up to the printers and claim your job for printing at the machine.

Wide Format Printer / Plotter

  • Allows for printing large format mediums like large posters, banners, and other over-sized products

Other utilities:

  • New Stand-Alone Paper Folder

  • New Laminator

  • New Paper Cutter

Timeline:

The transition will require the removal of current printers and equipment, and then moving new equipment into the Copy Center. The exact dates are not yet finalized, however, the final dates are being determined and will be communicated as soon as are able. We are estimating a transition by week 1 of September.

Training:

In-person training sessions will be made available for all the devices once the equipment is installed, configured, and cleared for use. IT highly suggests that at least one person from each unit plan to attend the training sessions. We have also identified Leslie Williams as a champion for the Copy Center utilities.

Support:

As with the currently installed printers, labels for support will be installed on all devices. You can also check the Help site in the future for more informational updates.
